31:12 The observation of the sabbath is again commanded;
31:18 Moses receives the two tables. No man, by course of reading or study, ever acquired a genius of any kind: we call it natural, and say it was born with the man: Moses teaches us to consider it divine. The prophet Isaiah - Isaiah 28:24-29
pointedly refers to this sort of teaching as coming from God, even in the most common and less difficult arts of life. Dark as the heathens were, yet they acknowledged that all talents and the seeds of all arts came from God.ReciprocalExodus 28:3 - wise hearted; 35:35 - he filled; Deuteronomy 34:9 - full of the spirit; 1 Chronicles 22:15 - all manner; 28:21 - all manner; 2 Chronicles 2:7 - cunning; 2:14 - skilful; Job 38:36 - who hath given; Proverbs 2:6 - the Lord; 8:12 - knowledge; Daniel 2:21 - he giveth; 1 Corinthians 12:8 - is given; James 1:5 - any; 1:17 - good; 2 Peter 3:15 - according

Some have asked, how gold, the most ductile and ponderous of all metals, could have been stamped into dust, and strewed on the water. In Deuteronomy 9:21, this is fully explained. I took, says Moses, your sin, the calf which ye had made, and burnt it with fire; that is, melted it down, probably into ingots or gross plates, and stamped it, beat it into thin lamine, something like our gold leaf, and ground it very small, even until it was as small as dust, which might be very easily done by the action of the hands, when beat into thin plates or leaves as the original words ekkoth, and dak, imply. 7:5, 7:25, 9:21; 2 Kings 23:6, 23:15 made theProverbs 1:31, 14:14ReciprocalGenesis 35:4 - hid them; Exodus 23:24 - overthrow; Judges 18:17 - the graven; 1 Kings 15:13 - and burnt; 2 Kings 11:18 - brake they; 1 Chronicles 14:12 - were burned; 2 Chronicles 15:16 - cut down; 34:4 - made dust; Isaiah 37:19 - And have; Acts 17:16 - his spirit; 19:19 - and burned Verse 21Genesis 20:9, 26:10; Deuteronomy 13:6-8; 1 Samuel 26:19; Joshua 7:19-26; 1 Kings 14:16, 21:22; 2 Kings 21:9-11ReciprocalGenesis 3:12 - General; 12:18 - General; Numbers 25:18 - vex you; Deuteronomy 9:20 - General; Judges 2:2 - why have; 1 Samuel 2:24 - ye make; 8:6 - prayed; 2 Samuel 11:13 - made him; 1 Kings 15:26 - in his sin; 16:2 - hast made my people; 2 Kings 10:29 - made Israel; 17:21 - a great sin; 21:16 - beside his sin; 1 Chronicles 21:3 - why will; 2 Chronicles 16:3 - break; Ecclesiastes 4:10 - if; Jeremiah 32:35 - to cause; Micah 1:13 - she; Acts 14:18 - scarce; 1 Corinthians 8:12 - when; Galatians 2:11 - because; Ephesians 4:26 - ye; Habakkuk 3:1 - is compassed; 3:1 - the law maketh; 3:1 - and thereby Verse 22knowestExodus 14:11, 15:24, 16:2-4, 16:20, 16:28, 17:2-4; Deuteronomy 9:7, 9:24 that they are31:27; 1 Samuel 15:24; Psalm 36:4; Proverbs 4:16ReciprocalGenesis 19:8 - I have; 23:6 - my lord; 32:4 - my lord; 44:18 - anger; Numbers 31:14 - wroth; 1 Samuel 15:15 - for; 15:21 - the people; Esther 1:12 - burned; Psalm 85:3 - turned; Proverbs 29:25 - fear; Galatians 2:11 - because; Ephesians 4:26 - ye; Habakkuk 3:1 - the law maketh Verse 23Exodus 32:1-4, 32:8Reciprocal20:4 - General; 1 Samuel 15:15 - for; 15:21 - the people Verse 24So theyExodus 32:4; Genesis 3:12, 3:13; Luke 10:29; Romans 3:10ReciprocalExodus 11:2 - jewels; 2 Samuel 19:9 - strife Verse 25nakedThe term naked may mean either that they were unarmed and defenceless, or ashamed from the consciousness of guilt.
